  We have been coming to the chateau versailles since 1979 and have recommended it many times to family and friends.

  Good for northern americans, who like the victorian style. for europeans rather average.

  There is no elevator and they were taking us to a room on the 4th floor. i have a back problem, so they then gave us a room in the "basement". we checked in late at night and weren't able to see outside. next morning we were ready to change our hotel if we didn't get a decent room that didn't require climbing stairs. they changed us to a mini-suite which was gorgeous. i would recommend this hotel only if one were to reserve a mini-suite. we were not charged additional for the suite. our original reservation was for a deluxe room. the deluxe rooms have only a pedestal sink with no room to put anything more than a toothbrush.
